My name is Claire Bonnstetter, I'm 16 and I love to garden.
My family has had a garden as long as I can remember!
I suppose you could say it's in my blood. My great grandma taught my dad how to garden and now my dad has taught me pretty much everything I know. We try to grow everything as organically as we can, and I like to start a lot of my plants from seed.
One thing you need to know is I LOVE growing (and cooking with) herbs! What I like is how they can transform things. For instance, by adding a bit of thyme and rosemary to chicken you can transform it into a whole new dish! Also, adding mint to sun tea adds a special zing.
I also love growing lots of different kinds of tomatoes, though I'm not a big fan of just eating them fresh. I love how many different varieties of tomatoes there are; so many sizes and colors. I may not be a big fan of eating fresh tomatoes, but home-grown tomatoes make THE BEST sauces - especially when accompanied by some wonderful herbs!
So follow me as I garden my way though the summer, and hopefully you'll learn some new tricks and tips that my family and I have stumbled upon over the years. And some yummy recipes too!
